The main aim …….
will be to create a digitally literate, skilled and confident workforce and student body across all the FE institutions in the North Wales region, by empowering staff to work more effectively within and between organisations through the adoption of communities of practice to aid teaching, learning and professional practice for all stakeholder groups. The colleges involved encompass over 70,000 learners and 4,000 staff, across six counties and approximately 2,400 square miles.
Digital literacy is the key to this enablement, which will be achieved through transformational leadership empowering staff and learners to direct themselves, coach and develop others, challenge the culture to change and establish a long term sustainable vision. This will be normalised through strategic adoption by the institutions involved.

This JISC funded project brings together represenatives from Coleg Llandrillo, Deeside College , Coleg Harlech, Yale College and Coleg Menai who will be working collaboratively to develop staff and learner engagement in education through establishing online Communities of Practice.
Over the next 2 years this group of colleges will be working together to develop Digital Literacy in the FE sector across North Wales.
Each college is working with different staff and student groups during the 2011-12 academic year to develop skills, knowledge, the sharing of good practice and the creation of new ways of working by adopting a Community of Practice approach. A more detailed project outline can be found on the JISC website.
